Jodhpur Life in Jodhpur is centered around the Meherangarh fort, built by Rao Maldeo in the beginning of the 16th century. It is glowing testimony to the chivalry, honor and grandeur that characterized the land of Rajasthan. Built in 1929 as a famine relief project, Umaid Bhawan Palace is a fine example of Indo-Sarcenic architecture. Embellished with fashionable interiors in the Art Deco style, it was designed by the renowned Polish artist and decorator, S. Norblin. Jaswant Thada and Government Museum are other places of interest.
